QA consultants & coaching with the right mindset
In The Pocket is a digital product studio that values the quality of the products they develop. “As such, we are always looking for ways to better monitor that quality”, explains Director of Engineering Thomas Mons.
“In addition, we are also continuously looking for new, good QA engineers to join our teams. For both aspects, however, we stayed empty-handed with previous partners. Proposed QA profiles often had no feel for modern digital products, and expertise on how we would best organize QA in our specific context (agile operation, new technologies, continuous deployment) was often lacking.”
Agile mindset
In the Pocket therefore started looking for a partner who could assist them in both aspects and think with them. In early 2017, In The Pocket decided to partner with Brightest. “Like us, Brightest is a young, dynamic company that is well aware of what an agile mindset is and that takes time to understand a client’s specific context.”
Brightest has supported us very well in all these aspects. Sometimes directly by offering knowledge or expertise, but sometimes indirectly, by providing good QA engineers at relatively short notice.

“We are very satisfied with the collaboration. Over the past years, Brightest has not only helped us find some strong QA engineers, but we also worked with them to scrutinize our current QA process. This was done during several coaching sessions where not only the QA engineer but also all relevant stakeholders were involved. The result is a nice, concrete plan that we want to realize in early 2018, but equally a much closer group of QA engineers (who are each in a different team on a daily basis).” says Thomas.
Test automation
In The Pocket has focused heavily on test automation over the past year and plans to continue to focus on it in the coming years. In addition, they are currently working to make their testing efforts much more visible by opting for a more integrated test management solution. Finally, today they have a team of QA engineers who are highly motivated to put their shoulders to the wheel on both projects.
The collaboration between Brightest and In the Pocket continues. “Brightest has supported us very well in all these aspects. Sometimes directly by offering knowledge or expertise, but sometimes indirectly, by providing good QA engineers at relatively short notice. This way, the team of QA engineers can also free up time to do the necessary research. We would therefore like to maintain the current cooperation and hope to continue working with Brightest in the same, constructive way for a long time to come.”
